OJEMA CHARGES SECURITY AGENCIES TO REDOUBLE THEIR EFFORTS IN ORDER TO END RISING INSECURITY

The Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Pst. Hon Ojotu Ojema FESMI, has charged Security agencies to redouble their efforts in order to nip in the bud, the escalating Insecurity nationwide

Chief Ojema gave this charge on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 while paying visit to the Benue State Commissioner of Police, Hassan Steve Yabanet in his office.

Speaking during the visit, Pst Ojema said, the main aim of his visit was to interact with the New Commissioner of Police on how special attention could be given to Apa and Agatu LGAs in the area of Security.

He appreciated the efforts of the State Police Command in rescuing the kidnapped victims of the Benue Links Bus and Mopol 80 Odugbo in mitigating security challenges in Apa and Agatu LGAs.

The Aboh-OcheK’Idoma, thanked men and women of the Nigeria Police, Benue State Police Command for their resilience and the supreme prices many of them have paid in defence of their father land, saying their efforts wouldn’t go in vain.

The Performing and Award-winning Federal Lawmaker however said, much is still needed to be done to curtail the renewed Security Challenges nationwide, especially, in Apa and Agatu LGAs, calling on the security agencies to redouble their efforts in order to restore long lasting peace and security to Apa/Agatu land.

Chief Ojema added that, as a Federal Legislator representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, he has been assisting Security agencies across the two Local Councils and would continue to do so until insecurity is finally brought to an end, calling on the State Police Command to give special attention to the two restive LGAs.

Responding, Benue State Commissioner of Police, Hassan Steve Yabanet, thanked Hon Ojema for the visit despite his tight schedules, assuring him of better policing of Apa/Agatu and the entire state.

In the same vein, the Apa/Agatu Federal Lawmaker also interfaced with the State Director, Department of State Security Services (DSS), Benue State, Dr Nka Obi-Bisong on the best possible way to restore Peace and Security to Apa and Agatu.

In her response, Mrs Nka appreciated Chief Ojema for coming, saying security, stability and peace of Apa, Agatu and all other local government areas in the state remain the top priorities of her office and would work assiduously and aggressively towards achieving the aims.
