*RESTORING PEACE IN APA/AGATU, BENUE STATE: A CALL TO ACTION*
As the farming season approaches, the residents of Apa/Agatu Local Government Area in Benue State are gripped with concern. Insecurity challenges have plagued our community, making peace and tranquility a distant dream.
The incessant attacks by herdsmen have left our people homeless, displaced, and living in fear. The destruction of properties, killings, and violence have become an unfortunate norm. Benue State, once renowned as the “Food Basket of the Nation,” risks losing its esteemed title if this insecurity is not promptly addressed.
We urgently call upon:
– The Federal Government
– The State Government
– Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
– Security Agencies
– Well-meaning Nigerians
to join forces and help restore peace to Benue State.
“We implore the relevant authorities to take immediate action to protect our people and their properties, prevent further violence and displacement, provide humanitarian aid to affected communities, and develop effective strategies to address the root causes of this insecurity.
Together, we can reclaim our land, restore peace, and ensure Benue State remains the “Food Basket of the Nation.”
