The amendment has sparked debate on electoral transparency. Critics argue the dual system may lead to inconsistencies and potential manipulation, while proponents see it as a pragmatic approach given Nigeria’s infrastructure challenges.

 

Protesters are concerned about undermining the electoral process, advocating for real-time transmission or re-conduction in affected units. The Senate’s decision reflects a balance between technological aspirations and practical realities.
