GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM HER ROYAL MAJESTY, AGABANYA, MRS. ELAIGWU OMABO MARTHA, WIFE OF THE OCH’IDOMA, ON THE OCCASION OF MOTHER’S DAY.
To the Esteemed Idoma Mothers and All Mothers Around the World,
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, I extend my warmest regards and heartfelt wishes to each and every one of you. Today, we honor the love, strength, and dedication of mothers who shape our communities and the world at large.
Mothers hold a unique and sacred place in our society. They are the nurturers of life, the architects of future generations, and the backbone of our families. From the tender care they provide in our earliest days to the unwavering support they offer throughout our lives, mothers instill in us values that cultivate resilience, compassion, and integrity.
The impact of mothers transcends the confines of the household. With their unwavering spirit and profound influence, they contribute to the moral and
social fabric of our communities. It is through their guidance that we learn the importance of kindness, unity, and respect for one another. Mothers teach us to dream, to aspire, and to strive for greatness, creating pathways for brighter futures.
As we celebrate the incredible contributions of mothers, let us also acknowledge the diverse experiences they face across the globe. Many mothers endure hardships and challenges, yet their resolve remains unshaken. They continue to uplift their families and communities with unwavering courage and tireless dedication. This is well commendable.
On this special day, I urge everyone to reflect on the invaluable role of mothers in our lives. Let us show our appreciation not only today but every day, recognizing their sacrifices and endeavors. To all the mothers of Idoma and beyond, your strength and love resonate deeply within us. We are grateful for your guidance and the indelible marks you leave on our hearts and minds. This can be acronymically put thus:
M – Molded by God’s love (Psalm 139:13-14, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”)
O – Outstanding examples of faith (2 Timothy 1:5, “I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.”)
T – Teaching and training with wisdom (Proverbs 31:26, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”)
H – Heartfelt care and compassion (Isaiah 66:13, “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”)
E – Enduring legacy of love (1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”)
R – Radiating God’s love and light (Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that
they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”)
S – Selfless devotion and sacrifice (John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”)
D – Dedicated to family and community (Titus 2:3-5, “Similarly, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children…”)
A – Agents of God’s grace and mercy (Ephesians 2:7, “in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”)
Y – Yielding to God’s will and purpose (Psalm 138:8, “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O God, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”)
May this Mother’s Day be filled with love, joy, and the acknowledgment of your immeasurable contributions. Together, let us strive to uplift one another and build a world where every mother is celebrated and supported.
With all my respect and admiration,
Your Royal Mother
