The Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI, condemns the brutal attack on Akpete village by suspected Fulani herdsmen that resulted in the death of 4 persons.
Armed herdsmen on May 1st, 2025 at 4:30 pm, invaded Akpete Community and gruesomely murdered 4 persons, wounded and displaced several others.
Chief Ojema who is currently in far away United States of America on an International engagement, says he received the news with rude shock, describing the attack and killing as unprovoked and premeditated by the attackers.
Pst Ojema adds that, the renewed attacks and killings by armed herdsmen in Akpete and other communities in Apa LGA, are sad reminders of the agony the people of the Federal Constituency have been facing for many years.
The Aboh-OcheK’Idoma calls on the Security Agencies to redouble their efforts in order to end the lingering insecurity in the Federal Constituency, wondering why such deadly attacks are still persisting despite all efforts to nip them in the bud.
The Federal Lawmaker assured the people of the Federal Constituency of his unwavering efforts towards bringing the prevailing insecurity to an end, reaffirming the people’s resilience and patience in this vale of tears and excruciation.
He commiserates with the entire people of Apa LGA, especially the families of those who lost their lives in the brutal carnage, praying God to comfort them, give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable losses and quick recovery of those still receiving medical treatments.
