AGATU CHAIRMAN VISITS BEREAVED FAMILY, CONDEMNS KILLING OF DISTRICT HEAD
The Chairman of Agatu Lcal Government Council and Deputy Chairman of ALGON in Benue State, Hon. (Amb.) James Melvin Ejeh paid a condolence visit to the family of Chief Anthony Adejo, the late District Head of Odugbeho, in his residence in Otukpo LGA of Benue State.
Chief Adejo was brutally murdered by suspected Fulani herdsmen on May 7, 2025, while working on his farm in Otobi-Akpa, Otukpo Local Government Area.
During the visit, Chairman Ejeh condemned the killing in strong terms, describing it as devastating and painful.
He said, “Chief Adejo’s death is shocking and quite painful, not only to his family but to the entire local government. We have lost a great man who tirelessly promoted peace in our community. This senseless act of violence is deeply unfortunate.”
The chairman extended his sympathies to the family of the deceased and the people of Agatu, particularly the Odugbeho community, praying that God grants the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
He called for a thorough investigation into the incident, urging security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore peace in the area and across the local governments in Benue State.
He also advised the people to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security personnel in their areas.
Ejeh was accompanied on the visit by representatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), his chief protocol officer, personal assistant, and other dignitaries.
