**Official Statement from the Oiwoda Women Group Regarding Barr. Mrs. Joy Onyimowo Okpaimo’s Philanthropic Visit to Agatu Widows**
We, the Oiwoda Women Group from Agatu, wish to formally address and clarify recent statements made regarding Barr. Mrs. Joy Onyimowo Okpaimo’s visit to the widows in our community, particularly concerning the report by Comrade Paul G. Edoh Jr. As we approach the 2027 elections, it is imperative to emphasize that Barr. Joy’s visit is not a political maneuver, and should not be perceived as such.
Barr. Joy Onyimowo Okpaimo has consistently demonstrated her commitment to philanthropy, focusing on the empowerment and support of widows and the less prevelage individuals in both Apa and Agatu. Her recent outreach initiative was a sincere effort to uplift those facing significant hardships and should be recognized as a genuine act of compassion.
It is essential for the public and media to separate philanthropic actions from political motivations. Barr. Joy’s intentions are deeply rooted in a desire to give back to her community and support those in need. She is not, and has never been, motivated by political gain in her charitable endeavors.
Furthermore, we want to disassociate Barr. Joy from any allegations linking her visit to sponsorship or political sponsorship by Distinguished Senator Abba Moro, Senate Minority Leader. This assertion is unfounded and does not reflect the true nature of Barr. Joy’s philanthropic goals, which stem from her personal values and commitment to bettering the society in which she she grew up.
We encourage a narrative that emphasizes the importance of charity, unity, and community welfare over divisive political interpretations. Let us acknowledge and celebrate the positive contributions of individuals like Barr. Joy Onyimowo Okpaimo, who selflessly dedicate their efforts to uplifting the vulnerable members of our society.
Together, we can foster a community spirit that prioritizes kindness and support for one another, irrespective of political inclinations.
Thank you.
Mrs. Jenebu Akoche,
