Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Facilitates Federal Jobs for Constituents in Kano

In a notable stride toward youth empowerment and job creation, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the House of Representatives representing Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency of Kano State, has secured federal government employment for 18 individuals from his constituency at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
The FIRS, widely regarded as one of the highest-paying federal agencies—alongside institutions such as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)—offers a distinct and lucrative salary structure, making these job placements highly coveted.
This development has been received with appreciation in Kano, where many residents see it as a testament to Hon. Jibrin’s commitment to leveraging his political influence for the direct benefit of his people.
“Politicians from the North are often unapologetic about using their positions to bring federal opportunities to their constituents,” said a political analyst. “This proactive approach is one reason why northern representation is prominent in top government institutions across the country.”
The move has reignited discussions on regional disparities in political engagement, with critics pointing out that some southern politicians prioritize personal branding and political showmanship over constituency development.
Observers note that while the qualifications of beneficiaries are often questioned, the broader issue remains the use of political access to create economic opportunities—an area where many leaders are urged to do more.
Efforts to reach Hon. Jibrin for comment were unsuccessful as of press time.
