APA PDP YOUTH FORUM ENDORSES CHIEF OJEMA FOR SECOND TERM
By Ojila Yahaya Monday
The Apa PDP Youth Forum had, on 29th May, 2025, endorsed the Member Representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI, for a second term, assuring him of mobilizing Apa youth for his resounding victory come 2027.
This endorsement was made at the National Assembly Complex when the group paid a courtesy call on the Award-winning lawmaker.
While addressing the gathering, the PDP Youth Forum Coordinator, Comr Baba Ochoyoda said; “The Apa PDP Youth Forum sincerely commends the outstanding performance and dedication of Honorable Ojotu Ojema. In just a few years in office, your tenure has exemplified what good governance truly looks like—marked by development, inclusivity, and progress.”
“Your leadership has not gone unnoticed, and it is on this strong foundation that we, the Apa PDP Youth Forum, vehemently appeal to you to seek reelection. This call is not solely about personal ambition—it is about the continued growth and advancement of our beloved constituency. Your representation has brought pride and transformation, and we believe the next phase holds even greater promise,” the Coordinator further stated.
Speaking on behalf of Zone A, Comr Okoh Emmanuel Oglo added that Chief Ojema has brought a new definition of politics to Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency. “This is the type of governance we have been missing for years, and now that we have it, we are not sacrificing it with any sentiment at all. The youth of Apa is ready to protect their future by all means. Go again and represent us,” he concluded.
While addressing the gathering on behalf of Zone B, Comr Aboche Mathew Oko stated that although he was a strong APC member, Ojema’s performance has lured him into PDP. Stating further, he said; “Politics today is not all about party. It is about human quality. Chief Ojema, from what I have seen with my eyes, embodies this quality. It is only wise to team up with him and make Apa/Agatu great. This is the patriotic thing to do.”
Comr Ali Sani, speaking on behalf of Zone C, made a passionate appeal to Apa Youth to jettison zoning agitation and vote in competence, explaining why it is only sensible to consolidate what Ojema has done so far. “Our honorable member, 2027 fight is not about you. It is the youth versus the old cabals who would have us in chains. We will speak strongly with our votes,” he went further.
While responding, the Aboh-OcheK’Idoma welcomed the delegation of the Apa PDP Youth to the National Assembly.
“Even though what you have said is not strange to me, I’m touched by the level of wisdom you all have displayed.”
“It is natural for me to perform. While I was the NAIS president, I provided mirrors in hostels. I built a 400-capacity Secretariat while I led the Benue State Civil Service. As a commissioner for seven months, I employed 7 people. And as a house of Rep Member, I have employed 24 people so far, and more are still coming. What gives me joy is to see people smile.”
“You don’t need to know me in person, neither do you need a special introduction to get access to me or be employed. Those I have given jobs and scholarship are those sweating under the hot sun in Apa/Agatu with us. You can be like me or even more than some day. Just keep your integrity serviced.”
“I can assure you that what you have seen so far are far less what I intend to do for our constituency. I will not stop to putting smiles in the faces of our people,” Chief Ojema said.
