AGATU PDP CAUCUS ENDORSES OJEMA, MORO FOR SECOND TERM

Agatu PDP Caucus has endorsed the Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI for reelection in 2027.

The meeting had also adopted the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro as it’s Sole Candidate for 2027 Senatorial Election.

This Endorsement is coming after earlier Endorsement by Apa/Agatu PDP Expanded Caucus Meeting held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Onyebi Resorts Ugbokpo and Apa PDP Caucus Meeting held on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 at Lungu Hotel Ugbokpo, Apa LGA Headquarter.

While moving a Motion for the Vote of Confidence on Chief Ojema and Comrade Moro and their adoption, the North Central Zonal Woman Leader of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Mrs Owakoyi Igharuwa said, the decision to endorse the duo for Reelection in 2027 was necessitated due to their Outstanding Performances.

The Motion was seconded by Hon Yusuf Ogbole (D-Boss) and unanimous supported by all the Caucus Members.

On the issue of Zoning, Hon Ogbole said, he was part of the discussion as the Secretary of the community, saying no decision was reached, the reason why candidates from both Apa and Agatu contested in all the elections after the committee’s seating, including the 2019 Reps election when Hon Ademu Entonu contested against Hon Samuel Godday.

Chief Ojema in his Remarks, condemned the rising attacks, kidnappings and Killings in Agatu and Apa LGAs by suspected Fulani Herdsmen, calling on the State and Federal Governments to proffer lasting solution to the carnage.

He appreciated Agatu and Apa PDP Caucuses for endorsing him and Sen Moro for Reelection in 2027, saying it coincided with the time he received similar Divine message from God while away in the United States.

He also congratulated Hon. Mrs Owakoyi Igharuwa on her emergence as the North Central Zonal Woman Leader of the People Democratic Party (PDP) at the just concluded North Central PDP Congress in Jos.

The Aboh-OcheK’Idoma described the Happiness and Unity displayed by Members of PDP Caucus as unprecedented during the meeting, saying it is an evidence of better things to come.

Pst added that he has secured 24 Federal Appointments for Apa and Agatu Youths.

“Recall the PDP Local Government Congress that took place in Obagaji here in 2024. It was transparent and all the Chairmanship Candidates participated, electorates queued behind their preferred candidate and Hon Oteyi Sunday who got the highest votes was announced as the PDP Chairman of Agatu LGA. I wonder why anyone should be aggrieved following the outcome of the Congress”.

“Some of the aggrieved persons are spreading rumour that, I am claiming to be the Political Leader of Apa and Agatu but recall during my reception held on June 13, 2023, I announced to the people not to referred to me as their leader but the Driver of their Train”

“For those who have benefited from PDP in one way or the other but trying to destroy the party, I want to tell you that, PDP will never go down”

“I will never let you down. As long as I remain your Reps Member, everyone will benefit from my leadership in one way or the other”

Chief Ojema during the meeting, announced the appointment of Mrs Abuya Ikwunja as his Adviser on Women Affairs and Mrs Maria Ongaji his Woman Coordinator for Agatu East. That of Agatu Central would be appointed in due course after consultation.

Pst Ojema also announced the donation of 200 cartons of Herbicides and 200 Grinding Machines for the people of Agatu similar to that of Apa LGA.

Former Chairman of Agatu LGA and the immediate past Benue State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism said, it was the right decision by Agatu PDP Caucus to endorse Ojema and Sen Moro for 2nd term reelection because of their Masterclass performances.

He added that, Ojema’s unprecedented achievements so far can not be matched by any of his fellow 1st term Lawmakers, citing the ongoing multiple million Naira NIWA Jetty Terminal at Ocholonya, road construction, scholarship, empowerment programs, appointments and speaking vehemently against insecurity in the Federal Constituency at the House Plenary and National Television stations, calling on the people of the Federal Constituency to queue behind Ojema in 2027 so that he could continue with the good work he has started.

Hon Inalegwu described the issue of Zoning being agitated by some people as non-existent and a figment of their own imagination as all the Reps elections so far were contested by aspirants from both Apa and Agatu.

Speaking on behalf of Agatu PDP Elders’ Forum, Elder Fodio Achegbani appreciated Agatu PDP Caucus for unanimously endorsing Ojema and Sen Moro for Reelection in 2027, urging Ojema not to abandon the good work he is doing and saying sky shall be the limit of his success.

He debunked the notion of any form of factionalism in PDP, saying the party remains intact and the only choice of Agatu particularly and Benue South generally.

In his speech on behalf of Members of the PDP State Executive from Agatu, Hon Silas Idakwo appreciated God for giving the people of Apa and Agatu such a vibrant Leader in the person of Hon Ojema, saying his performance can not be matched by any Former Reps Member from the Federal Constituency, urging the people of Agatu to give him maximum support.

Speaking on behalf of the people of Agatu East (Zone A), Agatu Central (Zone B) and Agatu West (Zone C), Hon Andrew Jacob (Manager) from Egba Ward, Hon Paul Ajike from Obagaji Ward and Hon Hassan Seini from Ogwule-Kaduna Ward respectively in their separate speeches, hailed the endorsement of Hon Ojema and Sen Moro for Reelection in 2027, saying the people of Apa and Agatu are moving in the right direction under Ojema’s Leadership.

They likened Ojema to Noah in the Bible who built an Ark to safe humanity from Flood disaster, calling on the people of the Federal Constituency to join hands with Ojema in order to take Federal Constituency to a greater height.

In their separate speeches, Elder Echoda and Elder Peter Ene’Adikwu said, the Federal Constituency never had a Performing Reps Member like Ojema, praying for his Reelection in 2027.

Hon Ochokwu Alelu in his speech on behalf of Agatu Youth, thanked Hon Ojema for always carrying the Youth along in the areas of Appointments, Empowerment, Scholarship, assuring of the maximum support of the Youth.

He also appreciated Elder Fodio Achegbani for always standing for PDP in Obagaji Ward.

Earlier in his speech, the PDP Chairman of Agatu LGA, Hon Sunday Oteyi, welcomed Chief Ojema and all other PDP Caucus Members in Agatu LGA to the meeting.

He particularly thanked Hon Ojema and Sen Moro for their tireless Sponsorship of the party and keeping it going in Apa/Agatu and the entire Benue South respectively, thanking Agatu PDP Caucus for the endorsement of the duo for Reelection in 2027.

He announced the setting up of Conflict and Peace Reconciliation Committee made up of 3- Member State committee in charge of Agatu LGA, an Elder and PDP Chairman from each ward to work together for the unity of the party.
