Bridging the Gap: Hon. Ojotu Ojema Celebrates BSU Endorsement as Hon. Dickson Tarkighir Empowers Unemployed Graduates

Makurdi – Benue state
In a compelling contrast to ongoing political activities in Benue State, Hon. Pst. Ojotu Ojema recently celebrated a significant endorsement visit from students at Benue State University, while Hon. Dickson Tarkighir, the dedicated lawmaker representing the Makurdi-Guma federal constituency, focused on empowering unemployed graduates.
Ojema’s endorsement from the university students highlights the concerted efforts of young leaders to gain support for their initiatives, but the pressing issue of unemployment remains a critical concern in the region. In response, Hon. Dickson Tarkighir has taken proactive steps to alleviate the struggles faced by graduates seeking employment. He has successfully aided over 700 individuals in securing jobs by actively collecting CVs from graduates in various fields.
In a recent statement to his constituents, Tarkighir declared his commitment to addressing unemployment without regard to the individual’s background. “If you are from MKD/Guma and possess any of these qualifications, please send your CV to ciir@yahoo.com right now,” he urged, emphasizing inclusivity and support for all graduates.
The qualifications sought span a wide range of disciplines, from Agricultural Technology and Environmental Science to various branches of Engineering and Hospitality Management. Tarkighir’s initiatives have made a substantial impact in the Makurdi-Guma Constituency, as he works tirelessly to bridge the gap between education and job opportunities.
However, his efforts have not gone unchallenged. Notable Benue activist Paul Edoh Jr. recently criticized his Honourable member for pushing for more endorsement rather than focusing on important issues affecting the Constituency , igniting a conversation on the efficacy of political solutions to unemployment.
As Ojema rallies support from the student body, Tarkighir is firmly rooted in action, striving to create pathways for the next generation in a climate where job security is increasingly elusive. The dichotomy of endorsements and employment initiatives paints a complex picture of Benue’s political landscape, underscoring the urgent need for collaboration in tackling the region’s challenges.
