In a heartfelt decision, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, the former Honourable Member for Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo Federal Constituency and Chairman of the Narcotic Drugs Committee, has canceled his planned birthday anniversary celebrations to honor the memory of those tragically killed by terrorists in Benue State.
Known affectionately as the OZIGIZAGA and UBAGIDI of Enone, Dr. Ottah Agbo used this occasion to extend condolences to the families of the victims of violence in the villages, particularly in the local governments of Apa, Agatu, Otukpo, and Ogbadibo. He reiterated his commitment to helping internally displaced persons (IDPs) and those receiving medical treatment through his NGO, the ENAYI OTTAH FOUNDATION.
In a press statement released by his media office, Dr. Ottah Agbo emphasized the need for collective support and action to combat the insecurity that has gripped the state. He urged citizens to work alongside the government in seeking lasting solutions to the ongoing violence, including the recruitment and training of local militias and vigilantes.
Dr. Ottah Agbo expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia for their support in enhancing military presence in the state, led by Chief of Army Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede. However, he stressed that community responsibility is paramount, stating, “No responsible human being celebrates a birthday while their brothers and sisters are murdered in cold blood for no fault of theirs.”
In his strong call to action, Dr. Ottah Agbo stated, “Our land shouldn’t continue to be a petal of blood,” urging all stakeholders to join forces in ensuring the safety and protection of their communities.
This poignant gesture by Dr. Ottah Agbo highlights the urgent need for solidarity and proactive measures in the face of continued security challenges in Benue State.
