*MORO, OJEMA PAY “ON-THE-SPOT-ASSESSMENT VISIT TO EDIKWU-ANKPALI*

*–Condole the people over Sunday Massacre by Herdsmen*

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro and the Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Reps Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojema FESMI, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, paid an “On-The-Spot-Asssesment” visit to Edikwu-Ankpali Community in Apa LGA, to sympathize with the people over last Sunday’s attack that resulted in the death of 11 persons, injuring and displacement many.

While addressing the people at Ankpali, Senator Moro said, the aim of their visit was to assess the level of destruction and encourage the people not to abandon their ancestral community for the attackers, assuring them of his full support.

In his concise and Precise speech, Member representing Apa/Agatu in the Green Chamber, Chief Ojema commiserated with the people over the calamity that visited their community, saying he would not rest on his efforts until the resurgent insecurity is brought to an end.

“Let me first of all, appreciate Senator Abba Moro for being here with our people once again, the same way he was with us when some communities in Akpete/Ojantele Council Ward were attacked by suspected armed Herdsmen”

“The pain all of you are going through today is the same pain I am also going through. The only difference is that I am not physically present with you here. That very day the attack took place, I was in touch with the Commander of Mopol -80, talking with him, the people, including, leaders of the community, the injured throughout the night and also provided what was needed for the evacuation of the wounded to the hospitals and their medical treatment”

“Our visit today is to sympathize with you and let you know that, we are not resting on our efforts in trying to put an end to the lingering carnage in the Federal Constituency. Even if the solution is in the fire, we will take the risk without minding it’s hot flame of the inferno”.

“We have taken every step, both at the Senate and House Plenary, speaking extensively, drawing government’s attention to the insecurity in our Constituency but to no avail”.

“It is obvious that, the abundant natural resources in our Constituency is the main reason the terrorists are hellbent in carrying out frequent attacks on our community with the intention of taking over our land but they won’t succeed by God’s grace.

“This is an unprovoked war declared against us, all we need now is to remain united in order to overcome the onslaughts against our land”, Ojema said.

He frowned at those playing Politics with Human lives, cautioning them to desist from such inhuman act forthwith.

Responding on behalf of Ankpali Community, the eldest Elder, Omafu Musa, thanked Senator Moro and Hon Ojema for the visit despite the risks involved, appreciating them for their support and wishing them safe trip back home.

Former Benue State Woman Leader of PDP and Former Chairman of Apa LGA, Hon. Mrs Onyebi Audu, a Community Elder, Mr Ogbeche Emmanuel and the Youth Leader of Ankpali Community, Ogbobu Gabriel, commended Sen Moro and Pst Ojema for always being there for their people both good and bad time, praying God for their Protection and safe trip back to their various destinations.

At the Onyebi Resort Ugbokpo, hosting the Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs) from Edikwu-Ankpali, Sen Moro and Hon addressed the victims of the Sunday attack, assuring them that they would do all they could to ensure that, peace and security restored back and the IDPs returned back to their community to continue with their farming activities.

The Aboh-OcheK’Idoma while on his way to Abuja, had a brief Stopover at Ogam Community in Agatu LGA, during which he was received by the Traditional Ruler of the Community, Chief Simon Ademu, elders, youths and women of the community.

Chief Adema eulogized Hon Ojema for the great achievements he has recorded in less than 2 years in office, assuring him that his reelection in 2027 is already a done deal

He requested for completion of an ongoing building of a Health Centre on behalf Ogam Community, which the Federal Lawmaker assured him of looking into as soon as the report gets to his office.

In the entourage of Senator Moro and Hon Ojema include; G-12, Former Chairmen of Otukpo, Apa and Agatu LGAs, Hon Gabriel Olofu, Hon Ameh Akoche, Hon Mike Inalegwu, Senior Legislative Aide to House of Reps Speaker, Hon Ogbeche Odaudu, Ojema’s Legislative Aide, Hon. Prince Antenyi Antenyi etc.
