Hon. Yusuf Elaigwu Suleiman profile

Hon. Yusuf Suleiman is a dedicated public servant and community leader from Benue State, Nigeria. He was born into the family of the late Mr. Sunday Eche Elaigwu and Mrs. Onyemowo Sunday Elaigwu, and is one of the sons of the former OCHE GOCHEKWU (Chairman of Apa/Agatu Traditional Council), the late Chief Elaigwu Awa of Ofoke Ojope.

Flipping through his academy journey, Hon. Suleiman holds a degree in Accounting from Kano State Polytechnic, along with a postgraduate certificate in accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Metropolitan School of Business and Management Studies in the united kingdom (UK). He has also earned several professional certifications, including:
MNIM (Member of the National Institute of Management, African of Business School, Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, Institute of Fraud Examiners, added another certificate in Advanced Professional Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering

He is also a Doctoral/Executive Member of the Artificial Intelligence and Financial Management Institute of Nigeria.

His Political Involvement in Nigeria party politics is centered in the all progressive peoples Congress in the passing years.
Hon. Suleiman is a prominent member of the All Progressive People’s Congress (APC), where he has made significant contributions at the party’s National Secretariat. His political journey includes:
Serving as the North Central Coordinator for the APC Youth Vanguard
Worked as an Acting Secretary for the All Progressive Youth Forum (APYF), now known as The Progressive Forum (TPF)
Being a member of the APC National Membership Registration and Revalidation Committee for Niger State, his footprints is visible both in Niger State and the National Secretariate of the party.
He once Contested for National Vice Chairman of the party, at the 2022 APC National Convention
Participating in key initiatives such as #Istandwithbuhari and #Istandwithnigeria4tinubu

Run up to the 2023 general election, he emerged as a leading aspirant for the deputy governorship candidate in the Benue State gubernatorial election. He has also been involved in various committees addressing youth restiveness, campaign strategies, and membership verification.

As trained financial manager, Hon. Suleiman’s career in finance and consultancy began his professional career in the northern part of Nigeria, with Ahmed Idris & Company. He played key financial role in managing the company’s expenditure and budgeting.
Joined Millennium Air briefly 2003–2004 as an accounting officer.
His carrier journey, lead him to Techno Computer System Ltd around 2004–2005 where he double as sales and accounting officer of the company.
Picked another accounting role, moved to Abuja Metropolitan Management Council around (2008–2009), a place he held an enviable accounting position.
Hon. Sulieman Elaigwu resigned to establish his own financial consulting firm,
Rare Management Resources Limited.

At Financial Time International Limited, a firm where he once worked, he rose through various leadership positions until he becomes the Director of Finance and Administration

Subsequently, he was appointed as Principal Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue state H.E Rev, Fr. Hycienth Alia on Commercial Transportation, a role he continues to fulfill under Governor Alia’s administration.

As a passionate leader, Hon. Yusuf Elaigwu is passionate about uplifting his community. Some of his notable initiatives include:

1. Solar installations in Ofoke
2. Provision of educational materials for Apa Primary School
3. Free JAMB forms for students in Apa and Agatu
4. Construction of the Enogaje culvert
5. Reconstruction of the Odugbeho bridge
6. Installation of a borehole in Egba
7. Installation of a borehole for Ikobi Primary Healthcare
8. Installation of two boreholes in Ojantele
9. Installation of a borehole in Akwu
10. Empowerment initiatives for the youth in Apa
11. Provision of relief assistance to the people of Apa

Hon. Yusuf Elaigwu Suleiman remains committed to fostering growth and development within his community, positively impacting the lives of his constituents and beyond.
