BREAKING! Don’t Enter Edo Without My Permission” – Gov Okpevbolo of Edo State threãtens Peter Obi
Tensions have escalated in Edo State as Governor Senator Monday Okpevbolo issued a direct threãt to former presidential candidate Peter Obi, warning him against visiting the state without prior notice.
In a fiery statement, Governor Okpevbolo declared:
“There is a new sheriff in town. He cannot come to Edo without calling me because the security will never be guaranteed. Whatever happens to him while he is in Edo State, he will take it. I am serious about it.”
The governor accused Obi of triggering unrest during a previous visit, where he allegedly donated ₦15 million—despite claiming during his campaign that he had “no shishi.”
“Somebody wey say e no get shishi came and dropped ₦15 million. By the time he left, there was crisis in Benin and three people died,” Okpevbolo alleged.
He concluded with a stern warning: “Tell Obi, don’t come to Edo without telling me.”
As at press time, Peter Obi’s camp is yet to respond to the governor’s threats.
