Breaking News: Concerned Igede Elders Throw Weight Behind Apa State, Reject Ogoja Option
The Concerned Igede Elders have categorically rejected the idea of Igede people joining Ogoja State, instead throwing their weight behind the creation of Apa State. According to Prof. John Enyi, a prominent elder from Igede who led a press conference on behalf of the group, allegations of marginalizat!on by Idoma towards Igede people are not sufficient grounds for the Igede people to exit Benue State.
The Concerned Igede Elders are advocating for a structural adjustment of the proposed Apa State, rather than pursuing the option of joining Ogoja State. In a bold move, the group is calling on all Igede sons and daughters to join forces with their Idoma neighbors to make Apa State a reality. This development effectively puts to rest any speculation about Igede people plans to join Ogoja State, as the elders have unequivocally stated that the Ogoja option is no longer viable. From now on, it appears that the focus will be on making Apa State a reality.
