Ejeh to Stakeholders: Achieving Peace, Security Requires Collaboration as he commends the construction, approval of the new police division in Okokolo.
The Executive Chairman of Agatu Local Government Area and Benue Deputy ALGON Chairman, Hon. (Amb) James Melvin Ejeh, has emphasised the importance of collective efforts in enhancing peace and security in the region.
He stated that security is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation among all stakeholders.
Speaking on Wednesday in Okokolo, Ejeh highlighted his role in facilitating the inspection of the newly built police station by the local community, which he joined with the representative from the Nigeria Police Force to assess.
He commended community members for this significant initiative, noting that it will help combat criminal activities and contribute to lasting security and peace in the region.
Represented by his secretary, Hon. Peter Ilah, the council chairman praised the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for approving the establishment of this new police division on August 20, 2025, marking it as the second one in the local government area.
Ejeh reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents and expressed his willingness to collaborate with security agencies to ensure lasting peace in the area.
