PRESS STATEMENT BY HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, AGABA-IDU OCH’IDOMA, THE PARAMOUNT RULER OF THE IDOMA KINGDOM, DURING THE COURTESY VISIT OF THE ACTING VICE CHANCELLOR OF REV. FR. MOSES ORSHIO ADASU UNIVERSITY (former Benue State University).
The Palace of the Idoma Nation today welcomed the Acting Vice Chancellor of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University (fmr Benue State University) Prof. Simon Terver Ubwa and his distinguished management team.
In his address, His Royal Majesty, Och’Idoma, commended the Acting Vice Chancellor for his dedication and courage in leading the state’s foremost tertiary institution at a critical time. His Majesty described the visit as a demonstration of mutual respect between the university and the traditional institution, stressing that both are custodians of knowledge and heritage.
While pledging the continuous support of the Idoma Nation to the university, the Royal Father outlined key areas of advice for the progress of BSU:
1. Academic Excellence: Strengthen teaching and research to position BSU as a hub of innovation and scholarship.
2. Discipline and Character: Graduate students who embody integrity, responsibility, and moral strength alongside academic knowledge.
3. Town–Gown Partnership: Ensure that research and community engagement address local challenges in agriculture, health, and development.
4. Strategic Collaborations: Build partnerships with other institutions locally and internationally for knowledge and resource exchange.
5. Welfare and Stability: Prioritize staff and student welfare, and uphold peace and inclusivity within the campus.
The Paramount Ruler further encouraged the university to remain committed to peace, dialogue, and fairness, assuring that progress thrives only in an atmosphere of stability.
In conclusion, His Majesty prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the Acting Vice Chancellor and his team, charging them to move the State University to greater heights of glory and service to humanity.
