So the news is flying — Tinubu has directed INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu to “proceed on leave” for betraying APC. My people, is this not the funniest tragicomedy of the century?
Let’s remind the world who Yakubu is: this was the man who turned the 2023 election into the most disgraceful fraud in Nigeria’s history. He promised Nigerians transparency, real-time uploads, BVAS technology — only to pull the plug and switch servers at the very moment votes were being counted. He manipulated figures, suppressed results, and awarded victory to Tinubu against the will of the people. Yakubu was not an “Independent” umpire; he was a Full-time APC employee on INEC’s salary.
This is the man who betrayed millions of Nigerians who queued for hours under the sun and rain to vote. The man who made young people lose faith in democracy. The man who singlehandedly dragged our electoral credibility into the gutter. History will always remember him as the architect of Nigeria’s stolen mandate.
But see how karma works! Now that his tenure is about to end, Tinubu has remembered that Yakubu “betrayed APC.” Betrayal ke? This is the same Yakubu who risked everything to install Tinubu as president. The only “betrayal” here is that Yakubu thought Tinubu would reward him with protection, appointments, or compensation after service. But Tinubu is a master of using and dumping.
