AGATU LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL CHAIRMAN PROPOSES SECURITY SOLUTION TO THE OLOGBA-EGBA CONFLICT
The Chairman of the Agatu Local Government Council, Hon. Amb James Melvin Ejeh, has proposed a security solution to address the ongoing conflict between the Ologba and Egba communities.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Amb Obochi Solomon, the Chairman emphasised the need to restore peace and stability, particularly given the long-standing nature of this conflict, which has persisted since 1972 over disputes regarding fish ponds and land boundaries.
As part of the proposed solution, he suggests a complete takeover of the disputed areas for the establishment of security formations and barracks.
The chairman reiterated that this decision aims to create a conducive environment for peaceful coexistence while efforts to engage, mediate, and deradicalise communities and their allies continue.
