BREAKING NEWS: GOV. ALIA MOVES TO DECAMP TO ADC, MEETS SEN. AYU IN MAKURDI
Governor Hyacinth Alia has just concluded a meeting with Senator Dr. Iyorchia Ayu a few minutes ago.
The meeting, which took place at Senator Ayu’s residence on Nyesom Wike Road, Makurdi, lasted for more than two hours.
Yesterday, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar officially registered as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in his hometown. Dr. Iyorchia Ayu is also in Benue State to collect his ADC membership card.
Governor Alia’s meeting is reportedly in preparation for his imminent defection to the ADC.
The ongoing mass defections and formation of local government executive committees being organized by the governor’s allies across the state are intended to demonstrate to Atiku and other ADC leaders that Governor Alia still commands strong grassroots support in Benue State.
It may be recalled that Governor Alia recently ordered the demolition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign office in Makurdi, the Benue State capital. The action was one of his many efforts to destroy the APC in Benue State before leaving for another party.
