*LOCAL POLITICS STIR: Agatu Community Demands Accountability from Hon. Michael Inalegwu Over OLOGBA and EGBA Crisis*
A rising tension has gripped the Agatu community in Benue State as Comr Ochokwunu Daniel Edor has publicly called out Hon. Michael Umoru Inalegwu, former chairman of Agatu local government during the peak of the OLOGBA and EGBA crisis, demanding transparency and explanations. In a charged statement, Edor alleged Inalegwu of having “a lot he needs to explain to the people of Agatu” about the circumstances surrounding the escalation of the conflict as he (Inalegwu) was the chairman at the time, urging him to speak out quickly.
Edor added that “The matter is serious, and also threatened that those responsible for the escalation of this crisis should be ready as they will be digging deep into the matter and will mention names if need be,” Edor warned, expressing outrage over the impact of the crisis on the people and homeland of Agatu. The community leader hinted at taking further actions to uncover the truth if a satisfactory response isn’t provided soon.
The OLOGBA and EGBA crisis has left significant scars in the region, and this demand for accountability signals growing pressure on local leaders to address past grievances. At the moment of this news, Hon. Inalegwu has yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
The Agatu people are now watching closely, as Edor emphasizes, “We will be waiting for his feedback or referral.” The development has sparked conversations about leadership responsibility and justice in the community.
