*Nnamdi Kanu Refuses Meeting with Rochas Okorocha at Sokoto Correctional Facility*
Detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu has reportedly declined to meet with former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha during a visit to the Sokoto Correctional Facility. Kanu allegedly instructed prison officials to escort Okorocha out, citing his stance against individuals involved in Igbo oppression. ¹
Kanu’s refusal stems from accusations against Okorocha, claiming he contributed to Igbo suffering and bloodshed. “I will not receive anyone who played a role in the oppression, suffering, and bloodshed of my people,” Kanu reportedly stated.
Kanu, convicted of terrorism charges and sentenced to life imprisonment, has been held in Sokoto since November 2025. His detention has sparked controversy, with some leaders advocating for his release, citing national reconciliation. ² ³
