Activist Paul Edoh Jr. Responds to Allegations of Financial Misappropriation Ahead of Major Voter Campaign
In a recent turn of events, Comrade Paul Edoh Jr., a prominent activist and the Convener of the APA Youths Arise Movement, has publicly addressed serious allegations of financial misappropriation that have shadowed his reputation in the lead-up to a crucial voter sensitization campaign aimed at engaging 5,000 potential voters in the APA and Agatu communities.
The accusations, reportedly spearheaded by Chief Olikita, an aid to the honourable member representing the good people of APA and Agatu federal constituency comrade Paul referred to as; a tiv riverine chief. Olikita, suggested that Edoh mismanaged funds meant for last year’s town hall meeting. However, in a statement released by Edoh’s publicity secretary, Comrade Inalegwu Ogiri, the activist presented irrefutable proof to counter the claims: the original receipt for the venue rental at the Miriam Babangida Center for Women Development in Abuja.
The allegations, which involved a substantial amount of money, were deemed part of a smear campaign aimed at disrupting Edoh’s intended voter campaign scheduled for early 2026. According to Edoh, such attempts to tarnish his reputation seem to be motivated by a desire to undermine the momentum of the APA Youths Arise Movement and to distract the public from pressing legislative issues within the constituency.
Edoh, in his statement, described the situation as disheartening, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and community service. He passionately highlighted the collaborative efforts made by supporters and community members, underscoring that funds were raised openly with the involvement of trusted individuals including Hon. Ogiri and Pastor John Omale.
In a further reference to the baseless nature of the allegations, Edoh expressed disappointment at the lack of focus on real issues affecting the community, particularly criticizing the legislative inaction of the current representatives. He indicated that instead of addressing critical topics, his detractors resorted to groundless accusations.
As he reaffirms his dedication to empowering the APA and Agatu communities through constructive initiatives, Edoh expressed confidence that such smear tactics would not impede the planned voter sensitization crusade.
The activist called on community members to remain united and focused on the positive developments ahead, emphasizing that in light of the recent adversities, the true aim should be to uplift and support one another for a better future.
Edoh’s response reflects a call to action not just for his supporters but for all citizens, reinforcing the idea that collective effort and dedication to progress will ultimately triumph over negativity and falsehood.
As the scheduled voter campaign approaches, both supporters and critics alike are watching to see how Edoh’s movement will navigate these challenges and continue to push for voter engagement and community development in the upcoming months.
