Chief Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema, PhD, FESMI, has commended the people of Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency for the peaceful and successful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congresses held across the 21 council wards on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He also expressed appreciation to officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Department of State Services (DSS), the military, the police, and other security agencies for their effective monitoring and provision of security throughout the exercise [1].
Ojema reminded constituents of the importance of civic participation, emphasizing the power of the ballot and urging those who have not registered to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). He assured the people of sustained, effective representation and inclusive development.
The APC ward congresses elected 27 ward executive committee members in each of the 21 council wards across the constituency.
Ojotu Ojema, the representative for Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, has commended the people of Apa and Agatu for the peaceful conduct of the APC ward congresses. He also thanked security agencies for their role in ensuring a smooth exercise. ¹
Ojema has been working on various projects in his constituency, including infrastructure development, education, and healthcare initiatives. Some notable projects include the construction of a 6-Classroom block at Methodist High School Obagaji and the asphalted Ogwule-Engila road.
Ojema defected from the PDP to APC in October 2025, citing divine guidance and a desire to contribute to Benue State’s development. His move has sparked controversy among constituents, with some questioning his commitment to serving the people.
