*OBAGAJI YOUTH PROTEST AGAINST HERDSMEN VIOLENCE, IGNORED THEIR CHAIRMAN TO CALL ON THE STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO INTERVENE*
Hundreds of youths from Obagaji, led by the Obagaji Youth Development Association and their ward councilor, took to the streets to protest the escalating violence perpetrated by herdsmen in their community. The protesters, fueled by frustration and desperation, demanded an end to the killings and called on the Federal and State Governments to intervene.
“Chief, we are fed up with the issue of herders killing our people. We can’t fold our hands anymore,” the youth told the member representing Agatu, and their traditional chief, Chief Ochoche James Edoh. The protesters chanted slogans, including “No to killing in our land” and “Enough is enough! Fulani should stop killing our fathers and our mothers.”
The demonstration highlights the growing concern and anger among Obagaji residents, who feel vulnerable to attacks. The youth are urging authorities to take decisive action to protect their community and expel the herdsmen from their land.
