*AGATU CONSTITUENCY RULES OUT SUPPORT FOR EGBA, OLOGBA ASPIRANTS AHEAD OF ELECTIONS*
Agatu Constituency stakeholders have declared that no aspirant from Egba or Ologba will receive their backing in the forthcoming elections, citing threats to unity, peace, and development.
In a press statement dated April 10, 2026, the Concerned Stakeholders of Agatu Constituency said granting the ticket to candidates from the two areas “would be detrimental” and could “destroy Agatu entirely.”
The group added a condition for any future participation from Egba: community leaders must ensure youths and elders obey the rule of law and accept existing court judgements in full. “Respect for the rule of law is non-negotiable. If Egba cannot obey the rule of law, they cannot be entrusted with the responsibility of governing Agatu Local Government,” the statement read.
The stakeholders reaffirmed Agatu’s stance on order, justice, and preservation of its heritage, stressing they remain resolute on the matter.
