Akpabio, Natasha, settles differences after President’s intervention
…pledges to withdraw all court cases
The conflict between the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has finally been resolved.
It may be recalled that the crisis between the two began on February 20, 2025, over seating arrangements during a plenary session. The disagreement later resulted in Senator Natasha making sexual allegations against the Senate President, which culminated in her suspension by the Senate on March 6. This has led to a flurry of court cases from both parties.
However, concerned about the ongoing public court cases and their impact on the integrity of the Nigerian Senate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a three-hour closed-door meeting on Monday, the 12th, with both parties and their counsel at the Council Chambers of the State House.
At the end of the meeting, both the Senate President and Natasha briefed state house correspondents, stating that all differences between them had been resolved. They commended the President for the fatherly role he played in resolving the crisis.
Additionally, they announced that all court cases would be withdrawn immediately, and the six-month suspension imposed on Natasha, scheduled to expire in September, would be lifted immediately.
Wait, wait, this is just my imagination and what I would do to solve this crisis if I were President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
