OJEMA INTERFACES WITH APA/AGATU PDP LG, WARD CHAIRMEN, EXCOS as Prince Antenyi, others clear the air on Zoning

The Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI, on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025 in Obagaji, Agatu LG Headquarter, had an interactive session with the Local Government, Ward Chairmen and their EXCO Members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Apa and Agatu LGAs in order to X-ray the state of the party in the Federal Constituency.

While addressing the meeting, the Aboh-OcheK’Idoma welcome all the party stalwarts and appreciated them for their prompt turnup despite a short notice, describing their quick response as a clear demonstration that they are truly ready to take the party to a greater height.

“I welcome you all to this meeting, which is aimed at having an opportunity to x-ray the state of the party in the two LGAs and to create familiarity among the new members of the local government and ward Working Committees of our great party, PDP”.

“As you all know, a party is like a family. There is always love and unity among members of any family that always come together to discuss important issues bothering them. Such family is always unanimous in its decision making and will never commit blunder”.

“In politics, loyalty to your party must be 100%. One of the best gifts that God gives to us, is the Mind to freely make our choices. Always follow the dictates of your mind in order to avoid double LOYALTY “.

“We must always cherish what we have. Thousands of people wanted to be where you are today but couldn’t make it. You must guard, protect and promote your positions and the party jealously. PDP is the only party that has structures in every nook and cranny of Nigeria. No party can defeat PDP in Benue South in any election except PDP itself through internal wrangling and anti-party activities.

“People have been agitating that I should declare for 2nd term because of my sterling performance and some have been putting forward some personal arguments, I keep on telling people that it is too early to discuss 2027. I will let everybody know my next political move only when God speaks to me as He did prior to the 2023 general elections”, Chief Ojema said.

Clearing the Air about the much talked about Zoning of Political positions in the Federal Constituency, the Legislative Aide I to the Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Prince Antenyi Antenyi categorically said, there was no Zoning Agreement on ground.

“I was part of the discussion as the party Secretary of PDP in Apa LGA then. What happened was that, late Hon Solomon Agidani was coming for 4th term as the only aspirant from Agatu and many aspirants such as Barr Ochejele, Ene’Ayi, Hon Ademu Entonu were coming out from Apa. My father, HRH Chief John Antenyi, the OdejoK’Apa, summoned a meeting, knelt down and begged the rest aspirants from Apa to step down for Entonu for him to have upper hand over Hon Agidani. That was what transpired and some people who were not even there are now referring to it as zoning. You could see that Hon Entonu also participated in the 2019 and 2023 general elections even though he was part of the discussion because he knew there was No Zoning”, Prince Antenyi said.

He appreciated Chief Ojema for his unprecedented achievements so far, saying the people of the Federal Constituency didn’t know that every community could benefit enormously from a Reps Member until the coming on board of Chief Ojema.

Prince Antenyi called on the people of Apa and Agatu to continue with their unwavering support for Ojema so that he could continue to deliver more dividends of Democracy to their footsteps.

In his short and concise speech, PDP Chairman of Apa LGA, Hon Abel Aboje said, there is nothing like zoning in existence, saying their elections in the Federal Constituency were always based on performance.

He added that, there had never been any Reps Member like Ojema in terms of performance in the history of the Constituency, saying the people of Apa have already concluded that they are after performance and have settled for Ojema and will continue to give maximum support.

Similarly, the Chairman of PDP in Agatu LGA, Hon Sunday Oteyi, appreciated Hon Ojema for singlehandedly sponsoring the party in the two LGAs, adding that the people are lucky to have him at the Green Chamber.

Hon Oteyi also thanked the Federal Lawmaker for making every community across the 21 Council Wards of the Federal Constituency to feel the positive impacts of his leadership, saying even though Ojema has not told anyone he is coming for 2nd term, his victory is already sealed if he decides to come as the people of Agatu LGA will completely rally round him.

Apa ALGON Chairman and PDP Chairman of Oiji Ward, Hon Apa Ochofye, his Counterpart from Agatu LGA and PDP Chairman of Ogwule-Kaduna Ward, Hon Umar Saidu and PDP Chairman of Iga Ward, Hon Anawo Joseph in their separate but similar speeches, appreciated Chief Ojema for always carrying the party leaderships in all the wards along, assuring him of their total commitment to the party and support to his leadership.

Hon Emmanuel Ochekwu, PDP Youth Leader of Apa LGA in his speech said, Ojema has proven that he could totally transform the Federal Constituency if given further opportunity, saying none of all the aspirants intending to contest for the Reps seat in 2027 can match Ojema.

He assured Ojema of total support of Apa youths, saying his one and half year in office has been youth friendly, mentioning Youth Empowerments, Scholarships etc as some of the benefits to the youths.
