BENUE GOVERNMENT RELEASES 2026/2027 SCHOOL CALENDAR: RESUMPTION SEPTEMBER 7

 

The Benue State Ministry of Education and Knowledge Management has released the approved academic calendar for the 2026/2027 session for all public and private basic and post-basic schools in the state.

 

According to the circular dated July 7, 2026, signed by Ochee Emmanuel Ochola for the Permanent Secretary:

 

*2026/2027 Calendar Highlights:*

– *First Term*: Monday, Sept 7, 2026 – Friday, Dec 18, 2026 [14 weeks]

– *Christmas Break*: Dec 19, 2026 – Jan 10, 2027 [3 weeks]

– *Second Term*: Monday, Jan 11, 2027 – Friday, Mar 19, 2027 [10 weeks]

– *Easter Break*: Mar 20 – Apr 4, 2027 [3 weeks]

– *Third Term*: Monday, Apr 5, 2027 – Friday, Jul 23, 2027 [16 weeks]

– *Long Vacation*: Jul 24 – Sept 5, 2027 [6 weeks]

 

The Ministry also announced that the 2027/2028 session will begin on Monday, Sept 6, 2027.

 

The Ministry directed all schools, excluding Federal Government schools, to strictly comply. Teaching, marking of registers, and full academic/co-curricular activities must begin on day one of resumption. All public holidays must also be observed.

 

Parents, teachers, and school administrators are advised to take note.
