**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**
**NAIS National Secretariat Condemns Heinous Murder of FUDMA Student, Demands Swift Justice**
The National Association of Idoma Students (NAIS) National Secretariat expresses its profound grief and vehement condemnation regarding the brutal murder of Emmanuel Michael, a student of Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), hailing from Ai-Okpoga, Aidogodo, Okpokwu Local Government Area, Benue State.
This tragic incident follows the abduction of four FUDMA students approximately three weeks prior, culminating in the abhorrent execution of our esteemed brother Emmanuel Michael. The NAIS National Secretariat unequivocally denounces this act of extreme violence as barbaric and utterly unconscionable.
We categorize this act as a severe **breach of security**, demonstrating a critical **failure of intelligence** and **operational security (OPSEC)** on the part of the relevant security apparatus. The **modus operandi** employed by the perpetrators suggests a level of organization and impunity that demands immediate and comprehensive investigation.
The NAIS National Secretariat hereby issues the following demands:
1. **Immediate and Thorough Investigation:** We implore the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Benue State Government, and all relevant security agencies, including but not limited to the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian Army, to initiate a swift and meticulous investigation into this heinous crime. This investigation must prioritize the apprehension and prosecution of all individuals involved in this act of terror.
2. **Enhanced Security Measures:** We call for the immediate implementation of robust security measures to safeguard students and residents in the affected region. This includes, but is not limited to:
* Increased **patrols** and **surveillance** in and around educational institutions.
* Deployment of **counter-terrorism** and **counter-insurgency** units to the area.
* Improved **intelligence gathering** and **analysis** to preempt future attacks.
* Strengthening of **perimeter security** around educational facilities.
3. **Accountability and Justice:** The perpetrators of this reprehensible act must be brought to justice with utmost urgency. The NAIS National Secretariat will relentlessly pursue accountability and ensure that justice is served.
4. **Victim Support and Bereavement:** We urge the federal university of Dustma and the Benue state government to provide adequate support and resources to the bereaved family and the affected student community. We also demand that a **psychological operations (PSYOPs)** strategy be implemented to reduce the fear and anxiety that has been inflicted upon the student population.
5. **Community Engagement:**We urge the security agencies to engage with the local communities to improve situational awareness and promote collaborative efforts to combat insecurity.
The NAIS National Secretariat reiterates its unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of Idoma students and all students across Nigeria. We will not relent in our pursuit of justice and security.
