EID-EL-FITR: OJEMA CELEBRATES SALLAH WITH APA, AGATU MUSLIM COMMUNITIES

—Charges them to extend Love, Benevolence to one another

The Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI, has admonished Muslim communities in Apa and Agatu to extend Love and Benevolence to one another and to others in need regardless to their faith.

Pst Ojema gave this admonition on Sunday, March 30, 2025 in Ugbokpo, Apa LGA and Obagaji in Agatu LGA as he joined Muslim faithful to celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.

Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of the Ramadan Fast, the fourth pillar of Islam, during which Muslims are devoted to intense worship and prayers to Almighty Allah.

Speaking while congratulating the Apa Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of Ramadan fasting and Celebration of Sallah at Apa Central Mosque Ugbokpo, Chief Ojema appreciated God that no death of devotee was recorded during the Ramadan period, saying it is one of the wonderful miracles associated with fasting.

Ojema urged Muslim faithful to extend Love, Benevolence to one another and to other less privileged regardless to their religious inclination.

“Both the Holy Books have confirmed that we were created from the same God and we are urged to love and help one another. Let’s keep to this important tenet”.

“During my unionism as Chairman, Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU), Benue State, my two best friends, Iyas, Chairman of Nasarawa State NCSN and that of Kano State, Comr Kabir were all Muslims. The message that was always coming from Comr Iyas was that, one must be very close to his Creator and Love one another, which is the same Biblical message given in Matthew 22:34-46 when the Pharisees came to ask Jesus about the greatest Commandments out of the 10 as Jesus Christ replied them as: “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind as the first and greatest Commandment while He said the second is: “You must love your neighbor as you love yourself. The same message I heard when I came here, showing that we are all one”.

“As the Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, I want to assure you that, my leadership will continue to carry everybody along regardless to his/her religious, political and ethnic affiliation because I belong to all”.

“I am physically present here to identify and celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr with you. Congratulations once again”, Ojema said.

Responding on behalf of the entire Muslim Community in Apa, the Chief Imam, Alhaji Salisu Musa, Secretary, Tenimu Shuaibu, Alhaji Aliyu, Muhammed, Alhaji Zubairu Haruna, all eulogized Chief Ojema, saying he has performed beyond expectation and his projects and empowerments are evenly distributed.

They unanimously said, Hon Ojema clearly deserves 2nd term because of his sterling performance and they would keep on supporting and praying for him.

They appreciated Pst Ojema for coming to celebrate with them despite his tight schedules, wishing him and his entourage safe trip back home.

Chairman of PDP in Apa LGA, Hon Abel Aboje and Legislative Aide I to the Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Prince Antenyi Antenyi in their separate speeches, unveiled the numerous achievements Ojema has recorded within a space one and half year, assuring the congregation of more Dividends of Democracy from the performing Lawmaker.

Earlier in Obagaji, Agatu LGA Headquarters, same message of love, peace and Almsgiving to one another was repeated

He emphasized that the lessons of Ramadan; patience, sacrifice and perseverance are essential in fostering harmony, peace, security and development in the Federal Constituency.

In their response on behalf of Agatu Muslim community, the Chief Imam Hassan Suleiman and his vice, Ibrahim Musa, thanked Ojema for coming in person to celebrate Sallah with them, praying for actualization of all his dreams.

Highlight of the visits was the dolling out of One Million Naira each to enable Apa and Agatu Muslim communities to celebrate their Sallah.
