**Demand for Urgent Accountability and Town Hall Briefing on Delay of Igoro Electrification Project in Apa Local Government**
Honourable Ojema, we hereby demand urgent accountability and a town hall briefing regarding the delay in the execution of the Igoro Electrification Project in Apa local government.
This project was allegedly inserted into the 2024 National Assembly budget, specifically found on page 92 with project code ERG20247527.
With the 2024 budget set to elapse in July of this year and the 2025 budget commencing between August-September, we are left with a pressing question: What is stopping the commencement of this vital project in the host community? It is crucial to ask when you the lawmaker representing the good people of Apa-Agatu federal constituency in the 10th Assembly intends to take action, given that it was under your leadership that the budget was approved, and were alleged to have made the insertion or nomination for this project.
While we commend you for nominating the community for this vital infrastructure, we must also ask: If the project is not executed before the 2025 budget begins, what will happen to the funds allocated for it?
We are calling upon the Honourable member to investigate the cause of this delay and to hold a town hall meeting with the community to provide a briefing on the reasons for the hold up.
It is vital that we demand action to ensure these projects are completed and serve the community they were meant for. Hon. Ojema, you must recognize that leaving this issue unresolved is a significant setback for our community.
Constituency projects are ongoing responsibilities; thus, any inaction will only add to the burden of the new honourable member from Apa when they assume office in 2027, God willing. The individual who nominated the contractors for this project must also understand that the community is in dire need of electricity, and it is the Honourable member’s duty to advocate to bring this necessity to fruition.
I still remain your sincere constituent member.
