OJEMA SUCCUMBS TO PRESSURE, ACCEPTS REELECTION CALL by Olikita Ekani

—As Apa PDP Caucus passes Vote of Confidence on him

— Distributes Tricycles to new beneficiaries, Motorcycles to all PDP Ward Chairmen, all his Ward Coordinators in Apa and Agatu, others

The Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI, has succumbed to relentless pressure by the people of Apa and Agatu LGAs to avail himself for reelection as he finally accepted their call to represent them at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly for the 2nd time in 2027.

Chief Ojema took the decision in his Acceptance Speech shortly after the Passage of Vote of Confidence on him by members of Apa PDP Caucus during their meeting held on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 at Lungu Hotel Ugbokpo, Apa LGA Headquarters.

The motion for the vote of Confidence was moved by Elder Sunday Otache from Oiji Council Ward and was seconded by Hon James Akome from Ofoke Council Ward.

In his speech, Pst Ojema condemned the endless and unprovoked attacks and killings across Apa and Agatu LGAs by suspected Fulani Herdsmen, assuring the people that, all would be done to bring a quick end to the carnage.

He thanked the people of Apa for their support and confidence reposed in him, assuring them that, their efforts wouldn’t go in vain.

“I thank you so very much for the Vote of Confidence you just passed on me and I wholeheartedly accept it and your call on me to represent you beyond 2027. I will continue to put smile on your faces through quality and effective representation”.

“Coincidentally, your call for my reelection is coming simultaneously with the message God has passed to me recently, asking me to represent the people of the Federal Constituency for the second time, similar to that of 2023”.

“Like what the other speakers have already said, be proud to identify with your party and its decisions. Don’t because of the fear of the unknown lose what you already have”.

“For the aggrieved members of the party who genuinely want reconciliation, the door is opened and the umbrella is large enough to contain everyone. Do not be deceived by any falsehood of future recognition of any belligerent group or faction by the National Leadership of our great party. PDP has conducted its Ward, Local Government, state Congresses and is conducting its National Zonal Congresses nationwide and will be followed by its National Convention in the months ahead. I can tell you free of charge that there is no faction anywhere”, Ojema concluded.

Earlier in his speech, Leader of Apa PDP Caucus and the OgbenjuwaK’Ugbokpo, Elder Elisha Amali, thanked Hon Ojema and Senator Moro for keeping PDP alive in Benue South and their outstanding performances, assuring them of total support of the people of Apa.

Former Special Adviser to Former Governor of Benue State on Special Duties, Hon Joseph Odaudu, appreciated Pst Ojema and Senator Moro for their relentless support for PDP, saying the people of Apa have no reason not to queue behind them in 2027

He expressed his deep sadness on the continuous killing of the people of the Federal Constituency by armed Herdsmen and the way and manner the security situation is s being handled, saying APC led State Government has completely failed the people of the State and shouldn’t be allowed beyond 2027.

Former Chairman of Apa LGA, Hon Ameh Akoche and Former PDP State Woman Leader, Mrs Onyebi Audu in their separate speeches, appreciated Hon Ojema and Senator Moro for not letting their people down, assuring them of total support in 2027.

They condemned wanton killings and destructions in the Federal Constituency by armed herdsmen, calling on President Tinubu to take decisive action to end the lingering insecurity in the Federal Constituency.

Senior Legislative Aide to House of Reps Speaker, Hon Ogbeche Dan Odaudu, frowned at past occupants of various positions who had enjoyed PDP for 8 years but wouldn’t want others to follow suit as they became aggrieved after the emergence of other leaders in similar positions and are hellbent to destroy the party, advising them to be contented and make a U-Turn or will face the wrath of God.

Benue South PDP Zonal Youth Leader, Hon Kingsley Unah, eulogized Ojema and Sen Moro for their effective representation and support for the party, saying nobody can stop anyone from contesting against the duo but the party feel very comfortable with them and would back them in 2027.

He called on the aggrieved members of the party to jettison false hope and return back to the PDP big umbrella.

PDP Chairman of Apa LGA, Hon Abel Aboje in his speech, commended Ojema and Sen Moro for their Masterclass performances and delivery of Dividends of Democracy to the Doorsteps of the people, saying their reelection is nonnegotiable in 2027.

Apa LGA PDP Deputy Chairman, Hon Oki Saleh, Elder David Otache from Igoro, Matthew Adejo from Auke, Hon Okpe Alade Magaji from Ojantele/Akpete, Elder John Atama from Ugbokpo, Hon Ibrahim Ofikwu from Igoro in their similar speeches, thanked Ojema for his outstanding performance, assuring him of the total support of their people.

In his Vote of thanks, PDP Ward Chairman of Oiji Ward and the leader of all PDP ward Chairmen in Apa LGA, Hon Apa Ochofye, appreciated Ojema for all the great projects he is executing across the Federal Constituency, saying he is their only House of Reps Candidate in 2027.

Highlight of the day’s activities was the distribution of Tricycles to new beneficiaries, motorcycles to all PDP Ward Chairmen of Apa and Agatu LGAs, all Ojema Ward Coordinators in Apa and Agatu LGAs and others, distribution of herbicides to farmers across all the wards in Apa and Agatu LGAs.
