PRESS RELEASE: WE’RE COMMITTED TO RESTORE PEACE, BE A WATCH DOG AGAINST CRIMINALITIES —— HON EJEH
Hon. Melvin Ejeh, the Executive Chairman of Agatu Local Government Council, has urged residents to support the government’s efforts to fight insecurity and restore peace rather than engaging in political criticism and personal interests.
His administration has been actively working to resolve boundary disputes and security challenges caused by herdsmen activities.
Ejeh recently led a peace mission to neighboring communities in Kogi State and Nasarawa, engaging opinion leaders, security experts, ex-diplomats, and religious leaders to foster dialogue and reconciliation.
His Rescue Mission Agenda aims to bring lasting peace between Agatu and its neighbors, with support from the Benue State Governor, Father Hyacinth Alia, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.
Despite his efforts, some community stakeholders have expressed frustration over ongoing political tension amid rising insecurity, calling for all hands to be on DESK until peace is fully restored.
However, James Melvin Ejeh remains committed to reconciliation and unity urging all political actors to focus on security and development rather than divisive politics.
