AGATU LGA CHAIRMAN AND STAKEHOLDERS MEET WITH OPERATION WHIRL STROKE TO TACKLE ARMED HERDSMEN
In response to the recent attacks on villages in Agatu Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. (Amb.) James Melvin Ejeh the Executive Chairman of Agatu LGA, led a delegation of stakeholders to the headquarters of Operation Whirl Stroke in Makurdi.
During the meeting with Major General Moses Gara and Colonel Bukuye, they received a commitment to eliminate armed herdsmen and criminals from Agatu.
The delegation, which included prominent stakeholders, urged the military authorities to remove armed herdsmen and facilitate the return of displaced residents to their homes.
Hon. Ejeh assured the people of Agatu that no part of the council would be taken over by Fulani terrorists under his leadership or that of Governor Hyacinth Alia.
He thanked the governor of benue State Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his security initiatives, commending his efforts to protect lives and property in Benue State.
The stakeholders in attendance included Colonel I. Odagbali (Rtd), President of the Agatu West Elders Forum; Mohammed Audu, Vice President of the Agatu West Elders Forum; Navy Commodore Oduma (Rtd); Mr. Ebi Lucky, President of the Agatu West Peace and Unity Forum; Dandy Adoba, Secretary of the Agatu West Peace and Unity Forum; and Umar Sheriff, President of the Agatu Youth Stakeholders Forum.
