*IBB Urges Military to Neutralize Bandits, Question Sympathizers*

 

Former Nigerian military president and elder statesman, General Ibrahim Babangida, has called for the neutralization and elimination of bandits in Nigeria, rejecting any pleas for surrender. In a statement, Babangida emphasized that the military should not accept any surrender pleas until all bandits are eliminated. ¹

 

Babangida also urged the military to invite negotiators and sympathizers, including Sheikh Gumi, for comprehensive questioning after the operation. The former president’s statement comes amidst ongoing security challenges in Nigeria, with various groups carrying out attacks and kidnappings.

 

Babangida’s comments reflect his long-standing stance on security issues, having ruled Nigeria from 1985 to 1993 and played a key role in shaping the country’s military policies.
