*AGATU COMMUNITY CALLS FOR ACTION AGAINST FULANI HERDSMEN*
Hon. Michael Umoru Inalegwu, former chairman of Agatu local government, has demanded that the current chairman takes immediate action to remove Fulani herdsmen from Agatu land. This call was made through the WhatsApp group, GREATER APA/AGATU FORUM.
Inalegwu emphasizes that farmers should be allowed to harvest their crops before any action is taken, to prevent further conflict. “Let our chairman find a way to get these Fulani out of our land until all the farmers harvest all their crops from the farm,” he said.
The call comes amid rising tensions between farmers and herdsmen, with reports of crops being destroyed and violence erupting. Inalegwu condemns the herdsmen’s behavior, citing instances where farmers are forced to uproot their own crops to feed cattle.
The community is urging the chairman to intervene and protect their land and livelihoods.
