*Bandits Demand Ransom, Motorcycles Payment Before Negotiating Freedoms of Abducted Worshippers 😊*
Bandits who abducted 166 Christian worshippers in Kurmin Wali, Kaduna, are demanding ₦28.9 million for 17 motorcycles they claim were lost during recent military operations. The abductors insist this amount must be paid before any ransom negotiations can begin. The worshippers were taken during coordinated attacks on multiple churches on January 18, 2026. Eleven victims managed to escape, while women and children remain in captivity. Security agencies have confirmed the abduction and say rescue efforts are ongoing.
The demand is ₦1.7 million per motorcycle, and the community is struggling to meet this demand. The bandits also accused villagers of tampering with some of the motorcycles by removing carburetors and spark plugs.
