*“IT’S NOT FULANI — WE ARE KILLING OURSELVES”: AIYA CONVENER DISPUTES CLAIMS ON ADAGBO CRISIS*
Comr Ochokwunu Daniel Edor, Convener of the Agatu Indigenous Youth Association (AIYA), has rejected reports blaming Fulani herders for the violence in Adagbo, insisting the crisis is internal.
“Let Agatu keep deceiving themselves and keep lying that it’s a Fulani attack when they are the ones killing themselves,” Edor declared. “I can confidently tell you, there is no Fulani attack in Adagbo. It’s you, murdering yourselves, and this madness should and must stop.”
He cited the recent incident in Ayele as evidence, questioning how attackers could bypass Obagaji, Oshigbudu and other surrounding communities untouched, only to strike Ayele in the middle. “Very soon Fulani will be out of Agatu, and by then we shall see who you will be attributing your wickedness to,” he said.
Edor argued that lasting peace in Agatu depends on truth and unity against external forces. “Agatu will not be peaceful as we all desire until we begin to tell ourselves the truth and get united to fight the external forces.”
