HON. YUSUF ELAIGWU SULAIMAN , A BEACON OF HOPE FOR APA/AGATU CLINCHES AFRICAN LEGENDARY AWARD , DEDICATED THE AWARD TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF APA/AGATU.

 

Hon. Yusuf Elaigwu Sulaiman, Principal Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Commercial Transportation and Monitoring, has been honored with the prestigious African Legendary Award at Asokoro, Abuja, on April 5, 2025. This recognition acknowledges his dedication to improving the lives of Benue State residents and his outstanding achievements.

 

As a key figure in Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration, Hon. Sulaiman drives initiatives that positively impact the state’s economic development. His appointment as Principal Special Assistant on Commercial Transportation and Monitoring showcases his expertise and commitment to public service.¹

 

During the award ceremony, Hon. Sulaiman acknowledged the recent attack on the Benue link from Makurdi to Otukpo, expressing sympathy with the families of the victims. He reassured the public that Governor Alia is committed to addressing insecurity in the state, stating, “The executive governor of Benue State will do everything possible to stop insecurity in our land, for he is a man who fears God.”

 

Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration has taken steps to address insecurity in Benue State. Since taking office in May 2023, the governor has prioritized security, recognizing its importance in achieving meaningful development. His administration has worked to address the root causes of insecurity, such as poverty, unemployment, and social exclusion.

 

Hon. Sulaiman dedicated the African Legendary Award to the good people of Apa and Agatu, expressing his gratitude for their support and trust. This gesture highlights his commitment to serving the people of Benue State and his humility in the face of recognition.
