Urgent Call for Accountability on Delayed Infrastructure Projects in Apa and Agatu Communities.
The construction of vital infrastructure in our communities, such as the **Healthcare Centre in Apa and Agatu** and the **Electrification of Igoro Community**, has become a pressing concern. With **N100,000,000** allocated for the healthcare facility earch and **N200,000,000** earmarked for electrification in igoro, the lack of progress is alarming.
Despite budgets been captured in the 2024 budget, the communities are still without basic services. no healthcare facility has been built, and the Igoro Community remains in darkness due to lack of electricity and transformers. This situation raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the allocation and management of these funds.
We cannot remain passive while the Honourable Pastor Ojotu Ojema allows contractors to walk away with substantial amounts without delivering the promised services. If these funds were indeed disbursed to the contractors as captured, the silence is unjustifiable. Why has there been no progress, and why hasn’t there been a transparent communication between the Honourable member and the host communities about the delay?
This purposeful inaction and lack of accountability is troubling for the constituents who depend on these essential services. Reports from community members via my private #meta account messenger indicate that critical infrastructure has yet to be implemented, leading to frustrations and skepticism about the contractors’ capabilities.
We urge the Honourable member to take immediate action investigate the status of these projects, hold contractors accountable, and ensure that the community is informed about what to expect moving forward. The budget for the healthcare facility expires in July 2025, and there are only a few months left to realize these crucial developments.
It is vital that we demand action to ensure these projects are completed and serve the communities they were intended to benefit before time elapse.
This call to action is not merely a request; it is a necessity for the welfare of the people of Apa and Agatu. Hon. Pastor. Ojema should always bare in mind that; To leave this issues unattended, to us is a big minus to our constitutioncy and community.
Constituency projects is a going concern, so what supposed to be done that is not done by him, becomes a problem to the incoming Reps God’s willing.
Those contractors that allegedly nominated for those projects should be informed by the Honourable member that; his people are in dire need of these healthcare facilities and the igoro Electrification project must be executed for the people to benefit.
