Hon. ABUH Umoru condemned the Akpete killings and called for federal and state government intervention.
The honourable member representing Apa state constituency in the Benue state house of assembly Rt.Hon Abu Umoru James condemned the Thursday evening attack on Akpete community of Apa local government area resulting in the death of four members of the community by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
Rt hon. Umoru decried the continuous siege on many communities of his constituency by the herders and lamented the continuous onslaught on his constituency.
He condole the people of Akpete and other neighbouring communities, affected by the recent attacks and wondered, the purpose the killing of his innocent people is intended to achieve.
While mourning his people he called on both the state and the federal government take proactive major to end the killing of his people by the armed Fulani herdsmen.
Furtherance to his call for an intervention, Rt. hon Abu Umoru calls for peace and vigilance among his people and ask for government intervention to enable his people return to their various communities to embark on their farming activities.
He lamented the coordinated attacks on his people on a daily basis making it impossible for people to asses their homes.
He pointed out that too many lives and properties have been lost in his constituency and advocated that the incessant killing in the constituency be treated as a national emergency.
