On July 6, 2025, a momentous occasion unfolded at Father Moses Adasu University, where Comrade Abu Elijah Adegahi an illustrious son of Agatu was honored with a prestigious Transformational Leadership Award. This accolade was bestowed upon him by the Father Moses Adasu University Chapter formerly Benue State University Chapter of the National Association of Agatu Students (NAAS) in recognition of his exemplary leadership during his tenure as the fourth National President of NAAS while he was a student at the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (now Joseph Sarwuan Tarkar University Makurdi) from 2008 to 2009 and afterwards.

The award presentation took place during thebwelcome party organized for new students at Father Moses Adasu University. The event was designed to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for new students, helping them adapt to their new environment while fostering a sense of community among peers. The gathering attracted a diverse audience, including students, and alumni. The event was marked by a series of engagements including speeches, quiz etc.

In a heartfelt speech delivered in the event, Comrade Adegahi addressed the new students, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing their education. He articulated that academic success should be the primary focus for students, as it lays the foundation for their future endeavors. Adegahi’s message resonated deeply with the audience, as he reminded them that while extracurricular activities and personal development are valuable, they should not overshadow the significance of their studies.
