CHIEF WHIP BENUE STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY RECEIVED HUNDREDS OF PDP DECAMPEES INTO APC

In a significant development, the majority Chief Whip of the 10th Benue State House of Assembly and Member representing Katsina-Ala West State Constituency, Hon. Bemdoo Peter Ipusu today 26th July 2025, warmly welcomed hundreds of members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Une, Iwar Council Ward, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

The event, organized by the ward leadership under the auspices of Hon. Awakyo Agbo, APC Chairman, Iwar Council Ward, witnessed impressive turnout of party faithfuls, expressing their satisfaction with the quality representation provided by the APC government and reaffirmed their loyalty and commitment to supporting the party to succeed.

Relatively, hundred of defectors cited good governance and effective representation by the APC at both levels of government as the reasons for their decisions. Notably among them were; Elder Azachii Chier Ugondo, Elder Avaan Achiaga, Hon. Ornguga Dememem, former PDP Caucus Member BOT K/Ala and former PDP Chairman Iwar Council Ward, Hon. Adega Hangeior, Abraham Taghernyi, Hon. Orshi Toryila
Hon. Udio Lubem alongside their supporters.

In their separate remarks, Hon. James Ivever, Chairman Local Government Commission, Hon. Atera Richard, PSA to the Executive Governor of Benue State on Community Mobilisation, Hon. Aluheen Sylvester, APC Chairman Katsina-Ala LGA, Dr. Tyodoo Iyue, Provost College of Education Katsina-Ala, Hon. Isaac Aondo, Member Benue State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Une Saater Sk, Supervisory Councilor on Local Government Revenue among others all commended Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Hon. Prince Solomon Wombo and Hon. Bemdoo Peter Ipusu for their effective service delivery.

They also applauded defectors for their bold steps and encouraged them to support the reelection of all APC candidates.

Responding, Hon. Bemdoo Peter Ipusu graciously welcomed the defectors to the APC, assuring them of inclusiveness in party affairs.

In a symbolic gesture of unity and dedication, the defectors presented Hon. Ipusu with a Tiv traditional dress.

The Majority Chief Whip reaffirmed his support for Hon. Prince Solomon Wombo and Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, urging all party faithfuls to rally behind them for greater opportunities.
