_Adagbo, Agatu – May 1, 2026_
There is relief in Adagbo this morning after the community’s king confirmed that rumours of an overnight Fulani attack are false and the area remains calm.
The rumours, which circulated early today, claimed that Adagbo had come under attack during the night.
Upon receiving the information, Comr Ochokwunu Daniel Edor, Convener of the Agatu Indigenous Youth Association (AIYA), said he immediately moved to verify the development. “I was curious to investigate the development, I put a call across to the King of Adagbo community, which he told me, it’s a rumour, that the community is safe as there was no attack as claimed by the public.”
While debunking the attack claims, sources noted there had been alleged rumours of a likely attack. “Up till the time of this post, there is no attack, and the community is calm,” Comr Edor confirmed.
He however cautioned that “in every rumours, there is always an element of truth in them,” and called on the Agatu Local Government Chairman, Hon. James Melvin Ejeh, to act swiftly.
“We call on our chairman, hon. James Melvin Ejeh to Deploy security to these areas so we won’t be taken unaware,” he urged.
Residents are advised to remain vigilant but calm, as Adagbo community is currently peaceful with no recorded incident.
