*Agatu Indigenous Youth Association Thanks Och’Idoma for Audience on Security, Unity and Development Concerns*
_Oturkpo, Benue State_ — The Agatu Indigenous Youth Association [AIYA] has expressed gratitude to the Och’Idoma of Idoma Kingdom, HRM Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, for receiving its delegation at the palace early hours of today on 18th May 2026.
In a letter signed by AIYA President Comr. Ochokwunu Daniel Edor, the association said it appreciated the “warm reception and patient audience” granted during the visit.
The group stated that the Och’Idoma listened to the pleas and concerns of Agatu youth on issues of security, justice, unity, and development. AIYA noted that the monarch’s willingness to engage reaffirmed his role as a father and guardian of both the Agatu people and the wider Idoma Kingdom.
“We are encouraged by your assurances and remain hopeful that under your guidance, the concerns we raised will receive the urgent attention they deserve as you reaffirmed your commitment to our people,” the statement read.
The association concluded by praying for the monarch’s wisdom, strength, and long life on the throne, saying his leadership provides a place of refuge for the people in times of need.
The visit comes weeks after AIYA held an internal meeting in Agatu to consolidate positions on communal crises, displacement, and the case of Oloche Silas Iduh ahead of engagements with traditional and political leaders.
