Benue Lawmaker Ridicules Idoma People Amid Ongoing Killings
At a time when Benue State is grappling with relentless killings and insecurity, a House of Assembly member [Pictured] has chosen to engage in theatrics rather than stand in solidarity with his grieving people.
In a shameless display of sycophancy, he reportedly mobilized women to roll out drums, dance, and sing praises to welcome Governor Hyacinth Alia during his visit to Otukpo.
The governor’s visit, supposedly to “sympathize” with the Idoma people over the ongoing massacres, turned into a grotesque spectacle of celebration.
This disgraceful act is nothing short of dancing on the graves of the innocent victims.
While families mourn their loved ones and communities live in fear, their supposed representative was busy orchestrating a mockery in the name of political loyalty.
His actions raise serious questions about the priorities of Benue lawmakers. Instead of demanding justice, pressuring the government for concrete security measures, or even simply standing in solemn mourning, he opted for a show of servitude at the expense of his people’s pain.
