**A Call for Unity and Action: Addressing Insecurity in Apa-Agatu**
In recent days, the dark shadow of insecurity has loomed ominously over Benue State, culminating in a tragic attack in Ojantele, Akpete ward, where innocent lives were lost to the reckless violence of unknown gunmen. In light of these devastating events, Honourable Ojotu Ojema is urged to follow the proactive example set by the people’s servant of Enone, Hon. Philip Agbese, member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituencies who appears on channels television, condeming the heinous crime caused on his people and providing alternative ways to handle insecurity. Ojema has the opportunity to galvanize public attention and action by calling for a National Press Conference to inform the nation and indeed the world about the plight of his constituents and the pressing need for safety and security.
The attack on Ojantele highlights a grim reality that cannot be ignored: the sanctity of human life is under threat in Benue State, Apa and Agatu by extension. As reports of the violence unfold, communities are left in mourning, grappling with the loss of their loved ones. It is a stark reminder of the urgent need for a unified response to the insecurity that has become a recurring nightmare for the people of our constitutioncy.
In a recent appearance of on Channels TV, Philip Agbese discussed the unfolding crisis in Benue State, emphasizing the collaborative efforts being made by him and the commitment of His Excellency Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration to confront these challenges. The urgency of this situation has galvanized him to take action; translating conversations and condemnation messages into tangible solutions that can restore safety and peace in his place.
As he articulated during the interview, the central tenet of his movement will be the prioritization of humanity over political affiliations.
He also stated that, “Insecurity affects every facet of our society, transcending barriers that often divide us. It is not merely a political issue but a human one that requires a united front, compassion, and determination from all leaders and citizens alike.”
Honourable Ojema stands at a pivotal moment where he can embody this spirit of unity and advocacy. By convening a National Press Conference, he has the chance to shed light on the atrocities faced by his constituents as our lawmaker and to rally support from various stakeholders committed to finding solutions. Now more than ever, our leaders must demonstrate a willingness to stand strong against adversity, prioritizing the safety and well being of their citizens above all else.
As we reflect on the recent events, the imperative for action resonates louder than ever. Our collective voice must call for a society where the safety of the citizens is non-negotiable and where humanity takes precedence over political sentiment. Together, we can strive for a safer, more secure future for Benue State, galvanizing efforts toward action that will benefit all.
As I round up my write up, bare in mind that, the weight of these troubling circumstances bears down upon us, let’s not shy away from lending our voices to this crucial cause. Let us advocate for a safe environment where lives are valued, leaders are accountable, and the dialogue leads to impactful change. The time to act is now, and we must do so together.
I still remain your sincere brother, comrade Paul G Edoh Jr
