Idoma Youth Leader Ochokwunu Daniel Edor Calls on Leaders to Speak Up Over Arrest of Oloche Silas
_Benue State_ – Comr. Ochokwunu Daniel Edor, in a post on his verified Facebook account, has raised concerns over the arrest and prosecution of Oloche Silas, questioning the silence of prominent Idoma leaders.
In the post, Edor asked, _“Where are the Idoma leaders?”_ and alleged a double standard in how security cases are handled. He wrote: _“The Fulani are protecting their own, why do we keep mute and selling our own, so bad.”_ He further claimed that individuals caught “terrorising” are sometimes freed, while those he described as “protecting their people” are arraigned, and accused leaders of staying quiet to protect political careers and reputation.
Edor also warned that without action, the situation could worsen, stating: _“I bet my liver if care is not taken, the XX witness is an Idoma man if not particularly an AGATU man, we have a long way to go.”_
He directly appealed for the release of Oloche Silas, arguing that Silas has no criminal record and that, prior to his arrest, there was no evidence of him terrorizing anyone. Edor added that the law also considers intent before prosecution.
The post called on several Idoma leaders and public figures to intervene, including: HRM James Ayatse, Comr. Abba Moro, Ojotu Ojema, Godwin Abu Edoh, Ojimbili Idris, 2baba Idibia, Ochacho Foundation, and Hon. Lady Blessing Onuh. _“Where are the Idoma people? We need all of you this time,”_ he wrote.
*Editor’s Note:* The allegations in Edor’s post have not been independently verified. Law enforcement and judicial authorities have not released detailed public information on the case of Oloche Silas. Attempts to reach the named leaders for comment were not successful at the time of this report.
